1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Couple Peacemaker ("the Tool"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Tool.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Tool after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2 Description of Service

Couple Peacemaker is a free, educational self-help tool designed to help couples improve their communication during conflicts. The Tool provides:

  • A guided 5-step mediation process based on established psychological frameworks
  • Breathing exercises and cool-down timers for emotional regulation
  • Emotion identification and need-mapping tools
  • Auto-generated communication scripts based on user inputs
  • Educational content about relationship science

The Tool is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

3 Educational Purposes Only — Not Professional Advice

COUPLE PEACEMAKER IS PROVIDED FOR EDUCATIONAL AND SELF-HELP PURPOSES ONLY. IT IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL THERAPY, COUNSELING, PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES, OR MEDICAL ADVICE.

The Tool is designed to help couples improve their communication during conflicts based on established psychological research frameworks. However, it does not:

  • Diagnose mental health conditions or relationship disorders
  • Provide personalized therapeutic treatment or intervention
  • Replace licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFT), psychologists, counselors, or psychiatrists
  • Address situations involving domestic violence, abuse, controlling behavior, or active safety threats
  • Provide legal, financial, or medical advice of any kind

⚠ If You Are in Danger or Crisis:

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, abuse, a mental health crisis, or any situation where you feel unsafe, please contact emergency services (911 in the US), the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233), or a qualified mental health professional immediately. This Tool is not designed for and cannot assist in such situations.

If you believe you would benefit from professional relationship counseling or therapy, we encourage you to seek out a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) or couples therapist in your area.

4 Permitted Use & Limitations

You MAY:

  • Use the Tool for personal, non-commercial purposes
  • Share the Tool with others who may benefit from it
  • Use the generated scripts and insights in your personal relationships
  • Reference the Tool's frameworks and research citations

You may NOT:

  • Use the Tool for commercial purposes without explicit permission
  • Reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the code as your own
  • Use the Tool to harm, manipulate, or abuse others
  • Misrepresent the Tool as providing professional therapeutic services
  • Attempt to circumvent the client-side processing nature of the Tool

5 Intellectual Property

The Couple Peacemaker name, logo, website design, and original code are the property of Couple Peacemaker and are protected by applicable copyright laws.

The psychological frameworks referenced in this Tool (Gottman Method, Nonviolent Communication, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Harvard Negotiation Project) are the intellectual property of their respective creators and institutions. We use these frameworks for educational purposes only and make no claim of ownership over them.

All research citations are attributed to their original authors and publishers.

6 Disclaimer of Warranties

THE TOOL IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Couple Peacemaker does not warrant that:

  • The Tool will meet your specific requirements
  • The Tool will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from using the Tool will be accurate or reliable
  • The quality of the Tool will meet your expectations

7 Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL COUPLE PEACEMAKER, ITS CREATORS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE TOOL, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

This includes, but is not limited to, damages for:

  • Relationship difficulties or breakdowns
  • Emotional distress or psychological harm
  • Loss of data or personal information
  • Any other damages related to use or inability to use the Tool

8 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Tool shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.
